OVERVIEW: Persistent or chronic pain is a common complaint, experienced by many. It isn’t always straight forward, responsive to treatment and can be difficult to manage. A multidisciplinary approach may be the next step forward. Our speakers will share with you current research, evidence based treatment and outcomes, from an integrated medical, psychological and physiotherapy based approach. You will learn about interventional treatments for spinal and other persistent pain conditions. Rhizolysis, dorsal column stimulation and peripheral nerve field stimulation, epidural injections and nerve root blocks will be covered. Clinical psychological considerations and rehabilitation of chronic issues will be discussed in depth.

 

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

This multidisciplinary team specialise in the management of persistent pain. With over 3 decades of experience between them, they come well equipped with current research and best practice, as well as experience managing the complexities of persistent pain. They have worked in both the private and public sectors within SA, and they have extensive experience within the Workers Compensation, Motor Accident Commission and Self Insured industries.
